Not Just Another 5K

1/14/2011

The past four evenings have been dedicated to churning out another personalized 5K for another good friend of mine. That makes two 5K training plans this week, but the 12-week programs couldn't be further apart. Both recipients have different goals for the same April 10th, Raleigh Rocks 5K. What makes this recent training plan special is that it will help my colleague complete his first ever 5K, an exciting feat for sure! Looking forward to supporting both runners over the next few months to achieve their goals in mid-April.

5K Training Plan

Just finalized a 5K training plan for a good friend of mine! A runner in high school, my buddy is looking forward to getting his competitive edge back and extend his fitness even further. Mark your calendar for April 10th as he will fine tune his training over the next 13 weeks to reach his goals. I am fortunate to live nearby to help support him throughout his training, sneaking in an occasional training run or track workout. Good luck Justin!

The Early Run

This week has been a great start to the New Year. Don't get me wrong, it has been tough responding to the 4:45AM alarm clock, but I have progressed through the day with increased energy as a result. It is key to persevere through the cold, dark winter months to be ready for the spring racing season. What are your tips and strategies to get through the winter months? What are you goals?
